We are excited about the new Children’s Ministry role that Jordan will be transitioning to this year. We will be hiring an Administrative Assistant to work alongside Jordan in this role. Below are some basic skill requirements and key responsibilities for the Children’s Ministry Admin position. This is a part-time position (Mon-Thurs – 24 hours/wk). The expected start date for this position is Late May, 2025.
Skill Set:
- Great communication skills both in person and on the phone. Patience, compassion, and kindness are critical attributes for this position.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient in data entry and database management.
- Proficient with Cloud based platforms (i.e. Google Drive, OneDrive, Google Forms, Google Docs, etc.).
- Proficient with Canva or other graphic design software is a plus.
- Willingness and vision to develop new ways to support and enhance the Children’s Ministry.
- Willing and able to support a variety of tasks during major church activities (outreach events, VBS, seminars, workshops, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
- The candidate will work as a team with the minister to develop, organize, and communicate Children’s Ministry activities in a manner that best benefits our families.
- The candidate must be reliably available during the Normal Office Hours coordinated with the Children’s Minister (Monday through Thursday, approximately 6 hours / day).
- The candidate will have primary responsibility of coordinating all Children’s Ministry activities with the keeper of the MCoC Calendar. The candidate will share responsibilities for answering the MCoC phones /doors and directing the call / person to the correct staff member when needed. The candidate must also have a security mindset realizing that they provide the primary perimeter defense for MCoC building access.
- The candidate will be responsible for Children’s bible class attendance tracking including identifying guests and visitors on a weekly basis.
- The candidate will help set the Children’s Ministry event calendar on a yearly basis and clearly communicate that with parents and the church as a whole.
- The candidate will support Kid’s Corner organization and help develop the Kid’s Corner team weekly emails.
- The candidate will help develop a Family email each week with updates and a weekly devotional (serve as a hub of information for various children’s groups so members and guests are well informed).
- The candidate will print the Children’s Worship Handouts.
- The candidate will support VBS planning, organization, and activities.
- The candidate will support Camp planning and organization.
- The candidate will support Children’s teacher recruitment and training.
- The candidate will support Bible Class curriculum development and future bible class development.
- The candidate will coordinate with MKC and other ministries to support special events and the tracking of visitors and guests.
