Missions

The purpose of the Missions Ministry is to provide encouragement and various means of support to Christians working outside of the Madison area proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. This ministry is grouped into four distinct geographical areas: (1) Asia and Australia, (2) Domestic (i.e., within the US borders), (3) Europe and Africa, and (4) Latin America.

We also help support Bible and Preacher-training schools in Korea, Thailand, Ukraine, and in the United States (Southern Christian University, Heritage Christian University, Tuscaloosa Campus Ministry, and Faulkner University).  Madison likewise supports the preaching of the gospel across public broadcasts airways, such as the German Radio Program over radio Luxembourg and the “Preaching the Gospel” television program which airs in nine states within the United States.

Each year, a large group of members from Madison participate in a mission campaign to Peru. To help prepare for these campaigns, our ladies spend many hour making Bible school material. Teaching materials are taken from Madison and other congregations, and a workshop /seminar is held for ladies who want to work in teaching the children.

The campaigns to Peru are also medical in nature. Doctors and nurses travel as part of the mission team to administer medical care for the local people of Peru. Huge quantities of medicine are shipped each year for this purpose.

Madison also has about 85 members who participate in the World English Institute (WEI) program. WEI is an outreach that provides Bible correspondence courses to students in more than 100 countries. In Uganda alone, the Madison WEI teachers have instructed more than 1300 students, resulting in baptisms. Baptism requests are given to missionaries to follow upon the study.
